Today, the LA Times announced that a Michael Jackson Theme Park is being planned on being built in Gary, Indiana. The location was the singer's hometown and project is expected to break ground this year. The build is planned to take a decade and cost approximately $1 billion. The park will feature a museum, art center, hotel, and a golf course. Also, this park will feature a 'Thriller' roller coaster. Read more...

Cedar Point has finally announced their new addition for the 2010 operating season. The new ride will be a hybrid of a roller coaster and a water ride, aka a water coaster. The name of it is Shoot the Rapids and will be residing in between Snake River Falls and Millennium Force's islands. It's theme will fall within the moonshine/frontier town atmosphere. LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (July 6) - Officials at Walt Disney World Resort were investigating what caused the first fatal accident in the 38-year history of the park's Monorail, a one-time symbol of founder Walt Disney's vision for future transportation. One of the monorail trains crashed into another early Sunday in the park's Magic Kingdom section, killing one of the train's operators, emergency officials said. Read more...

We have all seen parks and companies both change names or locations over the years, but they all do it for the good of their product. Today, Memorial Day, is the day Freestyle Music Park, previously known as Hard Rock Park, opens their doors for the first time under new management.

"Freestyle" in the park's name stands for all styles of music over the years, not just rock. This music will be played throughout the park. Not only has the park's name been changed, but some of the shops and coasters have changed names also. Read more...

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — A July reopening is planned for the Hall of Presidents, an iconic attraction in Magic Kingdom. An Audio-Animatronics version of President Barack Obama will join representations of the previous 43 presidents of the United States as part of an attraction that has been celebrating American history since Walt Disney World Resort opened in 1971. Universal City, California -- A traditional white Christmas and an encounter with the not-so-traditional green Grinch await guests at Universal Studios Hollywood as The Entertainment Capital of L.A. prepares to celebrate “Grinchmas” with tons of powder-fresh snow, meetings with The Grinch, Cindy-Lou Who and Max the Dog and a “Whoville” jubilation at the original movie sets where the classic “Dr Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” was filmed.

Universal Studios will be making the highly popular film, Transformers, into its newest dark ride attraction. The attraction is scheduled to be completed by 2010 and open in 2011 at Universal Studios Singapore and soon a Hollywood version will follow. Read more...
